When Madonna strapped on an electric guitar and started jamming during her recent Live Earth performance it naturally caused most to question whether or not she was actually playing the broadcasted music.
All reports seem to indicate that she has in fact been taking guitar lessons but whether or not she was proficient enough to perform on stage with guitar in-hand remains unseen. Madonna picked up the guitar during a solo opportunity for the hit song “Ray of Light”.

wow, she can play the guitar too?
okay i just checked out this video on youtube and she was hardly playing guitar, she was playing 2 chords for the entire song! and her playing of those 2 cords wasn’t hugely great.
She also had a lead guitarist on stage too, so anyone who doesn’t play guitar, or have much common sense would think, that the funky guitar sounding sounds where coming from her, but no, anything that sounded at all interesting would have been from the lead guitarist. and half the sound she was making was backed up by the other guitarist to make it sound better.
+ a terrible attempt at getting some good feedback going at the end of the song.
+ she must have millions if not billions, why couldn’t she have bought a good amp, played it safe with a Gibson lez paul, but seriously, for such a huge gig someone should have told her not to go for a small combo amp. I would have loved to have seen a stack bigger than her, which isn’t really much of a feat, cos she’s not really that tall. Then that would have easily solved her pathetic feedback problem, shove the gain up crank the amp to 11, kick on lashings of overdrive and distortion and she would have blown herself right into the audience.
Now THAT i would pay to see!!!
… but to answer your question: Yes, she played guitar; but no, she did not play it well or play a solo.
oh and that can not be discribed in any way as ‘jamming’ sorry.
anyway, i hope her fans liked it. + sorry film dude, hate to break the dream, but no, not really.
